Gatorfoam is a unique, strong, laminate panel with a core of extruded polystyrene and a face made of resin impregnated wood fiber veneer commonly known as Luxcell. It is an interior and exterior panel, great for structural and all model usage. It can be cut with a variety of woodworking tools, Xacto or matt knife. It accepts all types of paints and may be glued using construction adhesive, Aileen’s Tacky Glue,(best), or any variety of adhesive caulkings. When using outdoors care must be taken to protect the edges against ultraviolet light. The perfect choice for all around modeling and module construction. Gatorfoam comes in 4X8’ sheets as well as the sizes listed above. Custom sizes are available as well as custom cutting. There is no charges for cutting basic shapes. Pricing on custom sizes are $4.00 psf on 3/16” and $5.00 psf on ½”. Please note: UPS and USPS can not deliver 4X8’, or very large sheets. Shipping prices will depend on the number of sheets and sizes ordered. The smaller the package the better. Purchase larger sizes or a 4X8’ and we will cut it into smaller sizes at no charge and you’ll pay for the GF and shipping only. We do not charge and handling or processing fees. Final Note: We package our GF very well but cannot be responsible for shipper mishandling.
Backdrop Kits
A backdrop kit includes a pre-cut ½” thick base (3 and ½” wide by length), and a back section 3/16” thick (10” tall by length), and the necessary screws to assemble. Simply line up the base with the line and holes on the back section. Insert screws being sure to drive screws in fully, (going through the first layer). Apply latex adhesive to joint for a stronger bond. Mount with scenery or building kits of your choice. Backdrop kits come in 24”, 36” and 48” lengths.
